I was so moved and impressed by your conversation with Jim Beverly. What struck me most was his feeling that he had missed his chance to do anything heroic during his combat stint. My first impulse was to rewind the audio and make sure I'd got that straight. I'm not sure what Jim's standard of heroism might be, but in my view he became a hero by enlisting and putting his life and well-being on the line. Maybe we're not the ones to judge our own acts. There's no doubt that Jim has met the standard of genuine American "Viking" hero. His willingness to share publicly and to encourage others just further certifies his heroism.
Looking forward to seeing Jim in game soon.
