ok guys i wanted to start the conversation about warlords and a few things i have been thinking. First let me say that my name may have raid leader after it but this is not the corsold show so please please share your thoughts and ideas i would like to get everyone involved in these discussions. Ok now that thats out of the way lets get down to business. the first question i would have for all of you is what would you like to see out of the raid team moving forward into warlords? is there anything you would like to see us do differently going in? don't pull any punches if you have concerns lets talk about them and get them resolved as always my main goal is for everyone to have a good time and if there is something we could be doing differently to help with that please shout it out. Second how many of you are for sure planning on sticking with us into warlords and will you be playing your current class or switching for WOD if so what class will you be playing? so here are kinda my thoughts

1.) expanding the team to 15 people. hopefully this will give us a little more flexibility if we have people that have to miss raid. i don't wanna go full 25 man or bigger because honestly it scares me LOL

2.) Changing the schedule up a bit. instead of one night a week for 4 hours i was thinking of doing 2 nights for 3 hours a night. this will give us overall more time for progression and hopefully by only 3 hours a night not induce a ton of burnout.

3.) have a bit more of a focus on progression. OK i know some of you are probably saying WHOA!!!! but hear me out. Im not saying we turn into a hardcore group doing mythics and chasing server first. We will still joke around a ton on mumble act silly and have a good time but when we step up to the bosses game faces kick in and we smash everything!!!!!!! what this means for everyone is that while we have fun you will need to make sure you do everything you can to be prepared for the fights. that may mean watching a strat video during the week it will certainly mean at the least that you know the most efficient way to play your class and you are fully chanted and gemmed and know the stat priorities for your spec.

Again guys these are only my thoughts if you have differing opinions lets talk about them this is our raid team and everyone has an equal say in the direction we take it.

Additionally I wanna thank all you guys for being the most kick ass group of people i have ever played with you guys make the hard things easy for me and the easy things a blast! thank you all

What are you playing class in WoD?
I'm going to be maining my prot warrior when WoD hits. (RIP Gnome Monk.)

Here are my thoughts:

1.) expanding the team to 15 people. hopefully this will give us a little more flexibility if we have people that have to miss raid. i don't wanna go full 25 man or bigger because honestly it scares me LOL

I agree with this, but don't necessarily want 15 to be a hard limit. If the group grows organically I don't see a big problem with us fluctuating up or down as the expansion progresses. The more players the better, in my mind, because our group regularly ends up pugging people anyway. With WoD gearing, we will need to make sure we have a couple DPS players who have heals offspec and are willing to go heals if we need it one night. Needing to pug healers has been a common theme recently. Not sure if this will continue into WoD, but if anyone wants to volunteer to be heals offspec that would certainly make things easier. The WoD gearing style should really make it much easier for DPS players to have a good healing set. Corsold and I will be paying for regems/enchants if we do need DPS players to switch to heals so you won't have to eat the cost.

I will say this though: if you aren't sticking with us in WoD, that's perfectly fine. We'd like to see everyone stick around, but I know that old raid groups are going to be reactivating once WoD drops and people might want to go play with them or maybe they want to play with their old buddies that have resubbed. It's not a big deal. Just give us a heads up so we can find a replacement in time for WoD raids.

2.) Changing the schedule up a bit. instead of one night a week for 4 hours i was thinking of doing 2 nights for 3 hours a night. this will give us overall more time for progression and hopefully by only 3 hours a night not induce a ton of burnout.

I think two weeks a night format will work better for initial progression runs. Having 6 hours a week total versus 4 hours a week is a pretty big difference and should help us out if we are struggling on content. 3 hours should also give a little more flexibility to people's schedules. If people can make it, I'd say two nights a week would be good. If not, one night a week will also work. I just don't want to be behind on content as new content rolls out.

3.) have a bit more of a focus on progression.

I think "progression" might be a four letter word among "relaxed" raid groups like us. However, I think what Corsold means by "progression" is that we want to have fun. Killing bosses is fun. Wiping to easy mechanics is not. Slamming your head against bosses and dying to silly mistakes isn't fun. Getting loot is fun. How do we consistently kill bosses? By improving our play and making sure we are up-to-date with stats priority/gem/enchant/glyphs/talents/etc.

This doesn't mean we have to be making spreadsheets with all possible combinations of stats, but we might become a little more snooty when it comes to making sure everyone is making the effort to show up and down bosses. We've been doing a pretty good job so far, but don't be afraid to message someone if you see something obviously wrong with their gear or talents or rotation or whatever. There's a good chance that it might be a simple oversight. If it isn't, people shouldn't be afraid to improve themselves, so giving (FRIENDLY!) suggestions to other people will help us all out and will prevent burnout. Don't be a dick, either. Saying stuff like "OMG Corsold YOUR DPS IS TERRIBLE WTF" in Mumble is not cool and won't help people improve.

I like this idea, but I think rather than settling on an arbitrary number we need to wait for the 6.0 balance to be released, more players = more loot but also = more requirements. if 15 players means we have to do all the mechanics but only get 2/3 the loot drops...

2.) Changing the schedule up a bit. instead of one night a week for 4 hours i was thinking of doing 2 nights for 3 hours a night. this will give us overall more time for progression and hopefully by only 3 hours a night not induce a ton of burnout.
depends on the nights, during the winter it's easier to devote a little extra time but right now I don't know if I could be free 2 nights a week.

3.) have a bit more of a focus on progression.
evil, evil hunter, wanting to see content while it's still relevant.

also Slarsh:
Don't be a dick, either. Saying stuff like "OMG Corsold YOUR DPS IS TERRIBLE WTF" in Mumble is not cool

This isn't the Raid team I joined...saying stuff like that to Corsold is ALWAYS cool.

I think this is an excellent idea.
Btw, the hunter friend I brought last week is interested in the team, in case you are interested. Even the team name didn't discourage him.

I wouldn't mind going to 2 nights a week. My only concern is which nights as i have a mage on another team.

3.) have a bit more of a focus on progression.
Sounds like a good plan. I'd like to see new places and kill new bosses.

Doing this on mobile so hopefully it all looks okay... as far as class goes I plan to stick with my druid for WOD, and plan on still tanking. I will be making a better effort towards having an off spec for WOD with the removal of reforging and the auto adjusting main stats but I don't know what that OS would be at this point. If we have a specific gap, I will OS to fill it if needed.

1. I agree with Crom somewhat but I feel like Blizz won't put in choke points that requires certain numbers since it's contrary to the point of Flex raids.. More the merrier, and it will be good to have some stand-ins for all roles. I know I have 2 friends who will be returning for WOD and looking for a team.

2. This one is a blessing and a problem for me at the same time. I like the shorter time as I would hope that maybe we could stay a bit earlier (EST here and I wake up at 5:15 AM ... rough after a 12:30 bed time). On the flip side it would depend on the nights. Monday and Thursday are always my best but I know people have all different schedules.

3. I think the progression you are thinking of is more in line with what I am used to so I am more than ready for it.

Really looking forward to WOD! We head out for the honeymoon Saturday so I will see you guys early October! Take care and have fun till then!
